MaryAnn Buckles passed away at 12:29am on August 20, 2017 in Kokomo, IN.  Mary Ann was born on October 6, 1941 in Roxie, MS to Harvey and Hannah (Lehmann) Prather. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.  She worked at Ben Franklin department store in Peru, IN and she worked at the Hazelhurst Nursing home in Hazelhurst, MS.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Peru, IN for 30 years and was also a member of Elmo Baptist Church in Roxie, MS, she taught Sunday school in both places.    She married Rayford C. Buckles November 23, 1960 in Roxie MS.

She was born and raised in Roxie, MS and later moved to Peru, IN where she lived for 32 years with Rayford Buckles and then moved back to Roxie, MS in 1997.

She was preceded in death by her father Harvey Prather of Roxie, MS and her mother Hannah Prather (Lehmann) of Roxie, MS, and two brothers: Maxie Prather of Sicily Island, LA and Harvey Prather Jr. of Roxie, MS.

MaryAnn is survived by her husband Rayford C. Buckles of Meadville, MS and two sons Rayford A. Buckles of Roxie, MS , Mark Cameron , Rebecca Buckles of North Pole, AK two daughters Holly Sue and Travis Enlow of Jackson, MS and Debra Ann and Ron Toth of Kokomo, IN.   She is also survived by two sisters Ellen and Jack Harrigal of Roxie, MS and Matte Lucy and Alfred Buckles of Omaha, Nebraska and a Sister In law Weese Prather of Roxie, MS

She loved and was highly devoted to her grandchildren” Suzanne Sheppard (Colsen), Walter Davis (Leighann), Heather Davis Hodges (Tim) Leigh Davis Furr  (Tim),  Derek Alan Buckles (Paige), Rayford Daryl Buckles (Amy), Kendall H. Buckles (Grace),  Cody Rayls (Erin), Dick Toth (Whitney), Alex Toth (Renea), Staff Sargent David Toth (Alyssa),  Harvey Buckles and Jacob Buckles.

She had 27 great-grandchildren and loved and had a very special relationship with her nieces and nephews.  Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Peru.

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 6:00pm with Pastor Bob Adelsberger officiating.
