Mary Jo Haworth, 79, of Peru, passed away in the evening of Thursday June 1, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Kokomo, Indiana. Mary Jo was born in Peru, Indiana to George and Alice Brubaker on November 29, 1937. She graduated from Peru High School in 1956. She married Perry Lloyd Haworth Jr. on November 18, 1962 who preceded her in death on Monday April 19, 2004. With her husband, Mary Jo owned and operated Peru Sales Company from the 1963 until 1987. Afterwards, she worked at American Stationary.

She is survived by a son, Mark Haworth of Indianapolis; a brother, Gary Brubaker (Josie) of Portage, Indiana; a former sister-in-law, Martha Yearby (Glenn) of Valparaiso, Indiana; a niece Traci Brubaker, nephews David Brubaker (Laura) and Daniel Brubaker (Jacquelyn) also of Valparaiso, Indiana; a grand-nephew and several grand-nieces, whom she adored. Mary Jo was a member of the Chapel of Praise in Peru, Indiana and was also a supporter of the Living Manna Ministries (Pastors Paul and Mary Everdeen) of Peru, Indiana. She was at one time an avid camper and fisherman. All of her life, she enjoyed the company of family and friends, too numerous to mention, and was always happy to put smiles on faces. Mary Jo loved to travel and taking long drives exploring historic Miami County with her son, Mark and enjoyed visits with her grandpuppy, Prudence, who preceded her in death on May 9th of this year. She also enjoyed the company of her dear friend and caregiver, Cheri Freeman, of Peru.

Visitation will be at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St, Peru, Indiana, 46970, on Tuesday June 6th, 2017 at 9:30 AM. A service celebrating her life will begin at 11:30 AM, followed by a graveside memorial at Springdale Cemetery, Bunker Hill, Indiana.
