Mary C. Overholt, 94 of Markle passed away at 11:40 am on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Heritage of Huntington. Mary was a 1940 graduate of West Union High School. She had worked at Square D in Markle for 10 years and General Electric for 2 years, where she made parts for the WWII war effort. Later after her husband Lloyd’s retirement in 1976 they were the custodians at Markle Church of Christ for many years. As a life member of the Markle Church of Christ, Mary loved the Lord and made serving Him her number one priority. She also cherished time spent with her family, along with her and Lloyd’s many travels throughout the US and Canada.
Mary was born on March 10, 1922 in Union Township, Huntington County, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Burnette) Lund.
She was united in marriage to Lloyd E. Overholt on December 24, 1941 in Markle. Her husband survives.
Additional survivors include a son: Dennis (Anne) Overholt of Markle; a daughter: Linda (Robert) Hensley of New Haven; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Don Lund, Warren Lund, Harry Lund and two sisters: Kathryn Best and June Corell.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm, at the Markle Church of Christ, 455 E. Morse St., Markle, IN.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Church with Gerald O. Moreland officiating, there will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service.
Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.
