Mary Ann South, age 86, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 7:00 am at Laurelwood Senior Living, Dayton, OH. She was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Roanoke.
Mary Ann was born September 6, 1930, in Huntington, the daughter of Casmire and Theodosia (Hnajko) Prus. On October 26, 1963, she married her beloved husband of 51 years James L. “Jim” South at St. Marys Catholic Church, Huntington and he passed away August 24, 2015. She is survived by a daughter Leslie (Mark) Miller of Moraine, OH, 3 grandchildren Christopher (Cristin) Miller of Clermont, FL, Ryan (Lindsey) Miller of Zionsville, and Derek (Kaylee) Miller of Westfield, 5 great-grandchildren, and a sister Helen Davis of Huntington. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by 4 brothers Francis Prus, William Prus, Joseph Prus, and Robert Prus.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 31 from 9-10 am prior to the 10:00 am memorial mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Roanoke. Father Dale A. Bauman will officiate. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke.
