Mary A. Drook, 92, Marion, died at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2016, in her home. She was born in Mulberry, Indiana, to the late Maurice and Ruth K. (Kenworthy) Peter. She married William A. Drook on June 24, 1955, and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1999.

Mary was a graduate of Marion High School and Marion Business College. Mary worked for Foster Forbes Credit Union in Marion, where she was the manager for many years. She retired after 26 years of service. Later, she worked as Deputy Clerk/Treasurer for Gas City for 14 years. Mary was a 50 plus-year member of Christland United Methodist Church, formerly Highland Ave. United Methodist Church, where she served as the treasurer for many years. She volunteered her time at the gift shop in Marion General Hospital, and she enjoyed attending shows at the Marion Civic Theater and Concerts in the Park in Marion and Gas City. In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing golf and bowling, and was an avid reader. She was proud to be a cousin of Branch McCracken.

Survivors include her children, John Snyder, Marion/Venice, Florida, Bill (Brenda) Drook, Hebron, and Julie (Emmett) Flores, Gas City; grandchildren, Dawn, Ryan, Lauren, Clark, and Ethan; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Shelby, and Kellen.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy, who died in 2011; and a grandson, Logan Drook.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Christland United Methodist Church, 721 E. Charles St., Marion, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 22, 2016, at the church with Pastor Russ Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.
