Martha A. Kennedy, 97, of Peru, passed away at 11:20 A.M., Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru. Martha was born in Peru on May 9, 1919, the daughter of Joseph and Martha Eisenbrenner Schrader. She married Robert H. Kennedy at St. Charles Catholic Church on February 21, 1941 and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2009. Martha was a Peru High School graduate and worked in the Peru Community School Cafeteria for 31 years retiring in 1980. She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church. Martha is survived by her daughter Beth Hendricks and her husband Richard of Peru, a daughter- in- law Carol Kennedy of Peru; a sister, Ruth (Stewart)Worthley of Kokomo; grandchildren, Ryan (Karie) Correll of Kokomo, Corey (Suzanne) Correll of NJ, Chad Kennedy of Columbus, IN and Michelle (Tod) Erbaugh of Peru; great-grandchildren Mason Correll, Brady Correll, Michael Correll, Leah Correll, Nathan Erbaugh, Jacob Erbaugh, Trevor Kennedy and Megan Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert H. Kennedy, her son, Robert L. Kennedy, a brother, Joseph Schrader, Jr. and two sisters, Mary Mannies and Marjorie Fenimore. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 P.M., Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 West 5th St., Peru, with Rev. Adam Mauman officiating. Burial will be in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from Noon to 2:00 P.M, Thursday at the Eikenberry- Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St., Peru. Memorial donations may be made, through the funeral home, to the St. Charles Catholic Church.
