Marlene A. Hinkle, 84, Marion, died at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie at 1:20 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2017. She was born on August 4, 1933, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Richard F. and Cecil (Green) Klear. On June 20, 1953, Marlene married Robert L. Hinkle. They shared 56 years together until he passed away on December 26, 2009.

Marlene was a secretary for Conrail, and she was a member of the Lions Club and American Legion. She and her husband were both pilots and loved to fly. Marlene also enjoyed knitting, playing Bingo, working puzzles and crosswords, and watching football and NASCAR. She attended Holy Family Catholic Church and loved playing the piano and organ.

She will be missed by her daughters, Barbara Mariol and Diane Hinkle, both from Marion; grandsons, Christopher Patrick (Christie) Hale, Oxford, and Steven Michael (fiancé Chaya Turney) Ybarra, Jonesboro; great-granddaughters, Sarah Hale and Molly Hale; siblings, Janice Peters, Virginia Beach, Joan Klear (Larry) Thebo, South Carolina, and Mike (Nancy) Klear, Toledo; and sister-in-law, Lois Jane Parish, Logansport. Marlene also loved all of her many special nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, preceding her in death were her brother, Richard F. Klear, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Fred Peters and Bob Parish; and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Baker Breckenridge.

The family will receive visitors from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1009 Kem Rd., Marion, IN. Father Richard Weisenberger will be officiating with burial taking place at Gardens of Memory.
