Marilyn Mae Prater, 84, Delphi, went to be with the Lord at 4:18 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Regional Health in Delphi, IN. She was born in Gas City, IN, to the late Charles and Laura Mae (Warriner) Wade. Her husband, Ken Prater, preceded her in death on July 8, 2005.

Marilyn was a 1949 graduate of Mississinewa High School and worked for the Marion Area Planning Commission. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, as well as being an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Jonesboro for many years.

Marilyn loved her family dearly, adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and especially enjoyed attending their various activities. She stayed very active with daily exercise, care of her home, and her very well-loved animals.

Survivors include her children, Laura Lee (Steve) Brown, Clovis, CA, James (Julie) Weaver, Marion, Jill Ann Weaver, Indianapolis, Shari (Doug) Beam, Lafayette, and Wade Weaver, Wabash; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Joanne Wade and Alice Wade, both from Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, preceding Marilyn in death were her grandson, Ryan Weaver; 7 brothers; and a sister.

Friends and family may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Services to celebrate Marilyn’s life will be at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, March 12, 2016. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Fairmount.
