Marilyn M. “Boo” Ford

Marilyn M. “Boo” Ford, 87, Marion, passed away at Rolling Meadows Health Care Center in LaFontaine at 3:50 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018. She was born in Marion on January 13, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Blair and Helen (Scott) Weicht. Marilyn married James Ford on March 13, 1953, and they shared 41 years together before he preceded her in death on May 16, 1994.

Marilyn was primarily a homemaker and mother throughout her life. She had also worked as a telephone operator and enjoyed going out to lunch with her telephone lady friends. She loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed gardening, flowers, shopping, and traveling.

She is survived by her children, Regina (John) Cox, Marion, John Ford, West Virginia, and Jayne (David) Morris, Gas City; sisters, Susie Weicht, Greenwood, and Carole (Tom) Brown, Greenwood; grandchildren, Heather Cox, Sarah (Brett) Quandt, Breanna (Josh) Lee, David Morris, Joshua Morris, and Rachel Morris; and great-grandchildren, Carly Quandt and Grayson Lee.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Lee Ford and Jay Thomas Ford; a sister, JoAnne Fortney; and a brother, Robert Weicht.

The family will have a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018, at Church of God of Prophecy, 906 N. 10th St., Gas City, IN. Pastor David Morris will be officiating.
