Marilyn I. Scott

Marilyn I. Scott, 89, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 9:28 a.m. on Monday, December 25, 2017, at Wesleyan Health Care Center in Marion. She was the daughter of the late Maude (Thompson) Mitchell. Marilyn married James Otis Scott on November 24, 1949, and he preceded her in death on July 9, 2016.

Marilyn was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her husband and serving her family. For a time, however, she did work outside the home when she delivered newspapers for the Chronicle-Tribune. Marilyn was a supporter and follower of the Marion Giants. She also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds, and she was a member of Rosey Reds. Marilyn loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished time spent with them. She also liked to shop and travel.

She will be missed by her children, Debbie (Kevin) Rondeau, Lakeland, Florida, Connie Waller, Summitville, Terri (Jim) Atkinson, Big Pine Key, Florida, and Pat Scott, Monticello, Kentucky; 4 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her mother and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mike Waller, and brother, Bill Mitchell.

Family and friends may call from 2-6 p.m. with a funeral service for Marilyn beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.  Chaplain Don Miller will be officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at Marion National Cemetery.
