Lyman L. Benner Sr., age 88, passed away on Sunday (December 11, 2016) with family by his side.

He was born on May 24, 1928 to Boyd and Edna Benner of Miami County Indiana. Lyman was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard and his 2 sisters Lois See and Pauline Benner. Survivors include 2 sisters Mildred Catey and Shirley Benner.

He Is survived by 2 children, son Lyman L. Benner Jr. (Suzy) of Franklin Indiana and daughter, Pamela Selleck of Peru Indiana.

Lyman is also survived by 5 grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

He served in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller. Shortly after  leaving the service he worked at General Tire and Rubber Company in Wabash. He then joined and retired from the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier . His hobbies were farming, building homes, rebuilding tractors and aviation.

He was an extremely intelligent man. He had great vision and an even greater work ethic. His life was devoted to his farm and hobbies.

Visitation and funeral service will be at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home on Friday, December 16th. Visitation will be from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm At Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.  Burial will  follow at Ever Rest Memorial Park (Cass County, Indiana.)
