Luther Arthur “Butch” Magers, 67, died on Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Tampa, Florida. Butch was born on May 14th 1949 in Marion, Indiana to the late Chet and Betty Magers. He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1970. Butch married the love of his life, Sandy Clevenger, on December 18, 1967. He spent most of his working years at the Sports Bar, and later at Elite Motors.

Butch was a past Vice Commander of the American Legion Post 10 in Marion Indiana, and was also a member of the forty and eight Veterans club. He was the President of the Plymouth Club Bombers fan club and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and watching his grandsons’ sporting events. He was an avid Cubs fan and will more than likely try to pull some strings to get them to the World Series this year.

Butch is survived by his wife, Sandy Magers of Marion; daughters, Shellie (Ben) Spratt and Debbie (Grant) Randall, both of Marion; brothers, Rick (Deb) Magers of Tampa, Florida and Greg (Carla) Magers of Fairfield, Ohio; grandchildren, Barry Magers of Fort Wayne and Derrick Randall of Marion; great-grandchildren, Jaxin and Kaesin; and his very special puppy dog, Wrigley.

In addition to his parents, Chet and Betty Magers, Butch was preceded in death by his Grand Dog, Scooby.

A memorial service will take place at 11:30 am on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN with Pastor Matthew Trexler of The River Church officiating. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Butch’s life at the Plymouth Club in Marion following the services. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the funeral home.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Doctors and Nurses at the Veterans Hospitals.
