Louvunia “Lou” Pace, 74, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, in Lutheran Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Allen Pace; her loving daughter, Melissa Mayer; her parents, Carol Liston and Myrtle (Mosher) Cowan; her sister, June Cowan; and her brother, Randy Cowan. She is survived by her son, Edward Allen (Anita) Pace, Jr.; son-in-law, Chris Mayer; five grandchildren, Carolyn Hicks, Edward A. Pace, III, Brandi Pace, Dustin Bowman, and Benjamin Pace; three great-grandchildren, Mason Nelson, Jackson Sellers, and Alessa Rhea Bowman; brother, Wesley (Dorothy) Cowan; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Louvunia was born in Onslow County, North Carolina, on April 7, 1942, and graduated from Dixon High School in 1960. She worked as a waitress, and the Lord led her to meet the love of her life on May 23, 1963, at the “It Drive In” in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Pulling in that Thursday evening, she had no idea that it would lead to the most life-changing love of her life. Nearly five and one-half weeks later they married and relocated to Indiana, eventually finding their forever home on the river for nearly fifty years.

Louvunia was a homemaker and enjoyed helping her family. While she took care of the home, she was also very involved in her children’s education, PTA, and functions in the school system. As time passed, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and eventually her great-grandchildren. She attended several churches through the years, spending quality time at Morris Chapel, Trinity United Methodist, and Jones Chapel. Lou enjoyed singing, playing cards, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be missed dearly by all those who knew her.

Visitation for Louvunia is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, with Pastors Dave Khakola and Bruce Koontz officiating. Burial will follow at Marion National Cemetery.
