Louanne Burrows, 80, Swayzee, died in her son’s home at 7:52 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2017. She was born in Portland, Indiana, to the late Max Bray and Mary “Lois” (Ferguson) Councilman. On January 8, 1955, Louanne married James “Jimmy” C. Burrows, and they shared 51 years together until he passed away on June 10, 2006.

Louanne attended Portland High School and later in life graduated from Marion High School. She worked at Grant County State Bank as a bank teller for over 20 years. Louanne attended Lakeview Wesleyan Church and was a Bible study leader for many years.

Louanne lived life to the fullest and had a very adventurous spirit. She was an amazing teacher of spiritual values and life skills. She loved the water, whether it was swimming or going fishing with her husband. Louanne was an avid photographer and enjoyed birdwatching, gardening/flowers, and traveling with her sister and cousins, as well as visiting lighthouses along the coast. She especially enjoyed her trip to Europe to see her sister. Louanne was a very accomplished seamstress who could make anything.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her children, Tandy (Dave) Hall, Arcadia, Florida, David Burrows, Hartford City, Michael (Michelina) Burrows, Marion, Wade (Jennifer) Burrows, Martinsville, and Beth (Dave) Burrows; grandchildren, Heather (Michael) Welch, Adam (Emmi) Hall, and Victor Andrews; great-grandchildren, Gabe Welch, Zach Layer, Kyra Welch, Sebastian Hall, and Harper Hall; brother, Clyde (Janice) Bray; and sister, Kerry (Roy) Averette.

Louanne is also preceded in death by her step-father, Frederick “Pete” Councilman, and a great-granddaughter, Allanna Rae Welch.

The family will receive visitors from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN.

Louanne’s funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at the funeral home with Pastors Gary Bingham and Jim Sonnefield officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Cemetery.

The family’s preferred memorial is Bibles for the World, 1105 Garden of the Gods Road, P.O. Box 49759, Colorado Springs, CO 80949.
