Louann Bennett, 78, Upland, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 4:23 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2016. She was born in Fordsville, Kentucky, to the late Paul and Dimple Mae (Evans) Burton. On November 16, 1956, Louann married Simon J. “Bud” Bennett, and he survives.

Louann and her husband, Bud, built their family business from the ground up with only $35 in their pockets. They established Bennett Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning. She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Gas City.

Louann loved to read, be with and cook for her family, crochet, and plant flowers with her granddaughter, Emilee.

Loved ones Louann leaves behind include Bud, her husband of nearly 60 years; daughter, Elisabeth Ann “Beth” (Robert) Winters, Upland; granddaughter, Emilee Winters; sisters-in-law, Stella E. Hawk, Jonesboro, and Esther (Jerry) Evans, Texas; and special daughter, Pam (Larry) Poling, Upland. She will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were siblings, Ned Burton, Frank Burton, Mary Jane Hamm, Jo-Nell Trent, Elnora Kay Burton, and Margie Henderson.

Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Services to celebrate Louann’s life are at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor David Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Cemetery.
