Lorene E. McGowan, 89 of Huntington passed away at 3:45 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Oakbrook Village in Huntington. Lorene had worked in the Kitchen at Millers Merry Manor in Wabash for many years during the 80’s. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Lorene also liked to travel and see new places. She enjoyed eating at McDonald’s and she loved to cook.
Lorene was born on November 30, 1927 in Wabash, the only daughter of Leo and Mary Margaret (Green) Christie.
She was united in marriage to Joseph J. McGowan on September 19, 1952 in Fort Wayne. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1977.
She is survived by her Daughter Mary Green of Huntington.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 9 to 10:00 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, with Father Tony Steinacker officiating.
Interment will be at the Falls Cemetery in Wabash at a later date.
