Loren “Nub” R. Pearson

Loren “Nub” R. Pearson, 94, Gas City, died at 12:05 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2017, in his residence. He was born in Jonesboro to the late Walker and Edna (Hopple) Pearson. He married Myrtle “Pat” Pearson, and she preceded him in death on February 16, 2013.

Loren retired from Essex Wire and Cable. He was an Army Air Corps veteran and a member of the American Legion #95. He loved dogs, going to the lakes, and fishing. Loren had a great sense of humor, very witty and sharp, and kept up with current events really well, especially in his old age. He was an IU basketball fan. Loren worried about his family and dearly missed his wife, Pat, and had a soft spot in his heart for her.

He is survived by his sisters, June Holloway, Jonesboro, and Carolyn (Larry) Adams, Anderson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who are special to him.

In addition to his parents and wife, Loren was preceded in death by his brothers, Ellis Pearson and Calvin “Ike” Pearson, and sisters, Mary Johnson and Louise Dilley.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City. The funeral service for Loren will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park, Marion.
