Loren L Little

Loren L Little, 80, passed away at 10:20 pm on September 20, 2017 in his home in Fairmount, IN. He was born in Marion, IN on August 22, 1937 to the late Ancil C Little and Estella R (Gerstorff) Ricker.  Loren attended Fairmount High School and served his country for three years proudly as a US Marine.
He loved being a United States Marine and dreamed of a lifetime career serving his country.  Upon returning home, Loren worked at several different jobs, including Fisher-Body, Marion, IN, The Town of Fairmount Street Department, auto parts stores and others. He also served on the Volunteer Fire Department of Fairmount for many years. Loren enjoyed working on cars and proudly owned Little’s Garage and Body Shop of Fairmount. He always took pleasure in the old cars that came into town for James Dean Days. He also enjoyed time with his friends at tractor pulls, flea markets and going to junk yards in search for good used car parts.m He is survived by his best friend, his love Beverly Little, Fairmount; Son Loren L (Shorty) Little Jr and his wife Terren of Upland; Daughters Beth Holloway and fiance Michael Click of Fairmount; and Lori Cameron and husband Bobby of Talbott, TN; son-in-law Mark Richards, Fairmount. Loren’s mother, Estella Ricker also survives in Marion at the age of 98, and brother, Kenny (Connie) Little, Byrdstown, TN. Grandchildren include Chris Painter, Heather (Shane) Guy, Rachel Robertson, Weston (Christine) Richards, Josh Walker, Kyla (Derrick) Morgan, Leah (Patrick) Baker, Jacob (MaKinna) Little, Joseph Little, Tucker R Robertson, Joseph (Devyn) Wall, Brianna (Zach Burns) Little, Kayley Nicole Cameron, Clare Cameron, and Shane Cameron. Loren has 10 great grandchildren and two more due in March, 2018.
In addition to his family, Loren is survived by many special friends and family members including a special niece, Annette (Phil) Smith Osborne; “his man” Bryan King; friends Paul and Doris Scott; and Walter and Sandy Hutchison. He also has many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ancil C Little, sister, Mary Ann (Little) Smith and daughter, Cindy Lee (Little) Richards.
Loren asked that he be cremated, and that a public service not be held. The family wishes to honor his requests.
In lieu of/lowers, the family requests that donations in his name to Wounded Warrior Project in care of the funeral home.
