Linda G. Myers, 70 of Fort Wayne and formerly of Markle and Huntington has run the race with a rare incurable cancer over the last 19 months. She has finished the course, kept the faith, and now won the prize, as she entered her heavenly home on July 5, 2017 with her family at her side. Linda was born on November 21, 1946 in East Chicago, Indiana to Charles William and Kathleen (Williams) Yeager. She was the former co-owner and founder with her husband Bruce of Myers Funeral Homes in Markle and Huntington. Linda was a 1964 graduate of Calumet High School in Gary, and the Knapp College of Nursing in Santa Barbara, CA, class of 1967. She was a member of the Markle Church of Christ, Radiance Gospel Quartet, former President of Altrusa International of Huntington and past President of the Huntington Women’s Club. Linda served as a former board member of the Huntington Literacy Coalition and the Huntington County Extension Chorus. As a registered nurse, she worked at Wells Community Hospital in Bluffton, and retired from Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Her marriage was to Bruce Myers on October 19, 1968 in Oxnard, CA.

Linda is survived by her husband: Bruce Myers of Fort Wayne; daughters: Holly (Todd) Tester of Roanoke; Jennifer Becker of Atlanta, GA; five granddaughters: Cassandra, Corinne, Camille, Olivia and Shelby; a sister: Carol (Jon) Trathen of Portage, IN and a brother: Jerry (Julie) Yeager of San Jose, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Chuck Yeager.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.

Additional visitation will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Markle Church of Christ, 455 E. Morse Street, Markle, Indiana.

Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.
