Lillian M. Knapp, 97, Marion, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 1:35 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Colonial Oaks Health Care Center. She was born in Eskridge, Kansas, to the late Raymond and Golden (Trusler) Young. Lillian married Rev. Kenneth L. Knapp in 1943 in Topeka, Kansas, and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2001.

Lillian received her degree in education from Marion College and taught in both Marion and Mississinewa Community School systems, which included Jones Junior High and East Junior High, respectively. She was a member of the Indiana State Teacher’s Association and Nelson Street Wesleyan Church. However, her life’s dream was fulfilled when she and her husband answered God’s calling to full-time music ministry. They served for more than 50 years with The Wesleyan Church as General Evangelists traveling to churches and camp meetings throughout the contiguous United States and in Canada.

She will be missed by her daughters, Golden R. Seaton, Cromwell, and Jerri S. Walker, Boise, Idaho; grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Hunkovic, Meridian, Idaho, Olivia (Justin) Paton, LaPorte, and Matthew D. (Lacey) Seaton, Rocky Mountain, North Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Jules, Aiden, William, and Samuel. She was preceded in death by her brother, Beverly Young.

The family will receive visitors from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City.

A service of celebration of Lillian’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017, at Nelson Street Wesleyan Church, 1502 W. Nelson St., Marion, with Pastor Steve Fletcher and Rev. Matt Seaton officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
