Lester Lawrence Lawson, 70, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 10:29 pm, Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Marion General Hospital. He was born February 6, 1946 in Wabash, Indiana to Chester and Mary “Marie” (Cooper) Lawson.
Lester was a 1964 graduate of Wabash High School and served in the US Army. He was a retired construction worker. He was a life member of the Lagro American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. Lester was also a member of the VFW Post 286 and the Eagles Lodge, both of Wabash.
He is survived by four children, Rev. Jeff (Cindy) Lawson of Auburn, Indiana, Traci (Greg) Thompson of Wabash, Lester (Rebecca) Lawson of Hopkins, South Carolina, and Scott Lawson of Wabash; 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; sister, Loretta (Larry) Eltzroth of Urbana, Indiana; and his brother, Lyle (Sheila) Lawson of Wabash. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters Linda Conley and Laura Lawson.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday, January 30, 2017 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, with Rev. Jeff Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 9-10:30 am Monday, at the funeral home.
