Leo H. Boone, 74, Peru, passed away peacefully at his home on April 12, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Leo was born on February 12, 1943 in Galesburg, Ill. to the late Herbert and Alverda (Stegall) Boone. On June 13, 1964 Leo married his one true love Berneil Gray, and she survives.

Leo and his family relocated to Miami county in 1961 and he graduated from Bunker Hill High School in 1962. His first job was at Bill Wolf Super 98, pumping gas and changing tires. In August of 1965 he hired out on the Wabash Railroad, which later became the N and S Railroad. He retired in 2003 after 39 years of faithful service. He also liked to attend car shows, work in his garden and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Leo is survived by two daughters; LeeAnn (Michele Corcoran) Boone, Ann Arbor, Mich; Stacy (Steve) Coolman, Ft. Wayne; one son; Gary (Erin Jackson) Boone, Goshen; five grandsons; Braxton (Leslie) Boone, Brayden Boone, Brandon Boone, Ryan (Melissa Gallagher) Coolman, Derek Coolman; great grandchildren; Liam and Ashton Coolman; two sisters; Patricia and Sandra Boone; two sister in-laws; Carol (David) Kunkle, Rosalee Hayes and one brotherin-law; Ted (Janet Vinopal) Gray; along with many nieces and nephews and his beloved cat “Dusty”.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Boone.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 1-3pm at Riverview Funeral Home, 421 West Canal St. Peru. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Association. Friends and family can leave online condolences at www.riverviewfhperu.com
