Larry Joe Carl, 76, Kennesaw, GA, died on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, in his home. He was born in Marion, IN, to the late Charles E. and Estelle M. (Smith) Carl. On October 4, 1958, he married Anna Rock, and he shared 55 years with her until she died on August 26, 2014. Most of his life was lived in the Van Buren area, and he moved with Ann to be with his daughter 3 years ago.

Larry was a U.S. Army veteran. Following his military service, he worked as a machine operator/glass foreman for 35 years at Foster Forbes until his retirement. Larry called himself the “mayor” of Van Buren. He enjoyed woodworking, mowing his yard, riding his bicycle, and watching Westerns on TV.

Survivors include his daughter, Lori (Scott) Medaugh, Kennesaw, GA; furry baby (his dog), Buddy Carl; and several nieces and nephews.

Also preceding him in death was his brother, Max Carl.

Family and friends may call from 1-7 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Services for Larry will be at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home on Monday, February 15, 2016, with Dr. Rev. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Entombment will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
