Larry Dale Blackmond, 75, of Warren, IN, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 7:25 PM on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at his home in Warren. He was born on Wednesday, October 15, 1941, in Parma, MO. He married Ann Blackmond on Friday, August 30, 1963 in Anderson, Indiana; together the two have celebrated almost 54 years of marriage. Larry was a graduate of Madison Heights High School and retired from General Motors in Ft. Wayne, IN after many years of service. He was a member of McNatt United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, golfing, painting, playing the guitar and loved animals and music. Larry’s passion in life was spending time with his family; family meant everything to him.
Loving survivors include: Wife – Ann Blackmond, Warren, IN, Son – William Blackmond, Frankton, IN, Son – Robert (Anita) Blackmond, Frankton, IN, Daughter – Pamela (Steven) Williams, Monticello, IN, Sister – Anita Green, Michigan, 7 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his: Father – Robert Blackmond, Mother – Lora (Pope) Blackmond, Brother – Cecil Scheffler and Sisters – Barbara Biggs and Jean Johnson.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at McNatt United Methodist Church 9183 W 800 S-90 -Warren on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A service to celebrate Larry’s life will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bill VanHaften officiating. In honor of Larry’s wishes, he will be cremated after the services.
