Kim L. Manwell, 67, of Upland, Indiana died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.

Kim was born in Marion, Indiana on March 9, 1950, son of Kenneth W. Manwell and the late Margaret L. (Ulmer) Manwell. Kim graduated from Marion High School in 1968, where he participated in basketball and football. Kim and Gayle A. Stouffer were married on November 24, 1968 in Wabash, IN. A life long farmer, he also did general labor at Jer-Peg Contracting Inc. Kim was active in serving his church and community. He was a member of the First Friends Church, where he currently served as clerk of finance and trustees, and served on the Little Friends Day Care Board.   He held many leadership rolls, serving at both the local and state levels of the Friends Church.  He also served on the Grant County 4-H Fair Association board for 42 years and was a past president 2 times. During his sons time in Little League, he was a coach in Van Buren and also played on church basketball and softball leagues. He worked at the Indiana State Fair several years in the grandstand and cattle barns. Kim was a patient and loving family man that was involved in his grandchildren’s lives, attending their academic, sports, 4-H, and band events. He enjoyed playing golf and going to Florida.

Kim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gayle, three sons, Joseph (Anita) Manwell, Summitville, IN, Scott Manwell, and Nicolas (Jonda) Manwell, both of Marion, IN. Six grandchildren; Allison, Abigail and Jackson Manwell, Mikayla Dodson, and Simon and Benjamin Manwell. Two sisters; Kathy (John) Moldovan, Sandusky, Ohio and Kendra (Mike) Cline, Muncie, IN. Mother-in-law; Alice Stouffer, Wabash, IN and in-laws, Michael Robert “Bobby” (D’Ann) Stouffer, Wabash and Debra Stouffer, Chicago.  Along with several nieces and nephews.

Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Michael Manwell and father-in-law Robert Stouffer.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, IN. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 2-8 PM at First Friends Church, 2211 N. Wabash  Avenue, Marion, IN. Funeral service for Kim is Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 10 AM with Pastor Jeff Nagell and Pastor Dave Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park, Marion, IN.
