Kent was born on March 13, 1951 in Huntington, the son of Kenneth L. and Wilma (Obenhour) Jackson. He graduated from Huntington North High School in 1969 and married Christine E. Hess on January 27, 1973. Kent worked as a fabricator at Koester’s Body and Frame in New Haven and was a faithful servant of Faith Community Church of God in Huntington. He loved to fly model airplanes and was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. He also enjoyed woodworking and was a handyman who could restore just about anything. His grandsons were his “number one”.
Surviving in Huntington are his wife of almost 45 years, Christine E. Jackson, a son, Jason (Lisa) Jackson, and a daughter, Keely M. (Troy) Oswald, and four grandsons, Trenton T. Jackson, Cameron B. Oswald, Eli W. Oswald, and Cooper J. Jackson. Also surviving is a brother, Danny (Brenda) Jackson of Waynedale and a sister, Pam Stephens of Andrews. His parents precede him in death.
Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 at Faith Community Church of God, 3615 North Norwood Road, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Faith Community Church of God with Pastor Micah Mobley officiating.
