Keegan Alan Downey, 18, Huntington, IN, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at 4:05 a.m. at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, IN.
Keegan was born on June 19, 1997, in Huntington, IN, to Ryan and Jerrie (Downey) Douglas. His parents survive in Huntington, IN.

Keegan enjoyed life to the fullest and always found a reason to show his beautiful smile. His smile truly lit up the world. Anyone who knew Keegan loved him. Keegan especially loved his cousins and his dog, Sissy girl. He enjoyed playing baseball and football with the Champions League at the Parkview YMCA. Keegan had a great sense of humor, laughing at the silliest things. He always loved and laughed when others were scared. He enjoyed watching television, especially when watching with his father. He enjoyed going on walks and watching movies with his mom and little brother. Keegan left a lasting impact on anyone that was lucky enough to cross his path. Keegan showed what true courage was to the ones who knew him. Keegan completed 13 years of schooling from caring teachers, physical and occupational therapists.

Along with his parents, Keegan is survived by his younger brother, Rylan Douglas. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Kay Stanley, Madison, IN; his maternal great grandmother “his nan”, Simmie Black, Huntington, IN; and his paternal grandmother, Elease Douglas, Huntington, IN. Also surviving are several aunts and uncles who loved Keegan very much.

Keegan was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Stanley; and paternal grandfather, Archie Douglas.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, with Rev. Chris Hayden officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the YMCA-Champions League in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
