Kathryn L. Favorite, 92, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 25, 2017, at Colonial Oaks Health and Rehab in Marion, IN. Kathryn was born on August 23, 1925, in Springfield, Ohio to the late J. Corwin and Gladys (Wise) Bentzel. She graduated from Stivers High School in Dayton, Ohio in 1943. She then married Marion Favorite and he preceded her in death in 1980. Kathryn worked as a dietary purchaser for Miami Valley Hospital, from which she retired after a very long career. Kathryn was a member of Hillside Chapel in Beavercreek, Ohio, then attended Brookhaven Wesleyan Church in Marion, Indiana after moving. Kathryn enjoyed cross-stitching, reading, and flower gardening. She loved to travel. She was able to make several trips overseas, visiting places such as Israel, Ireland and Germany. She also made many trips throughout the United States.
Kathryn is survived by her son, Henry (Patti) Favorite, Marion, IN; daughter-in-law, Jill Favorite, Beavercreek, OH, sister, Evelyn Shoup, OH; granddaughters, Amy (Greg) Jacobs, Charity (Joel) Creek, and Holly (Dale) McCrory; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Corwin and Gladys Bentzel; husband, Marion Favorite; son, Russell Favorite; and sister, Ruth Belcher.
Arrangements for Kathryn have been entrusted to Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Dayton, OH 45432, and local arrangements to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services College Park Chapel, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, IN. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, OH.
