Kathleen (Katie) R Fluhrer, 94, of Marion passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016.
in Upland.
She was born to Ernest and Agnes Comer Brown on June 15, 1921, in Marion where she resided her entire life. She was a graduate of Marion High School and was employed for close to 50 years in banking with 1st National Bank of Marion and its successor owners. She married Paul W Fluhrer on April 13, 1943, in Gethsemane Episcopal Church. Paul precede her in death on November 27, 1987.
Katie, a member of Gethsemane for 70 plus years was active in the church for many years as Church Treasurer and in various roles with the ECW. She was a strong supporter of Crippled
Children’s Society and in planning Marion High School reunions. Katie was an avid sports fan and in her free time she enjoyed watching basketball and reading.
She is survived by her “mutually adopted children,” Judy Ratliff,Indianapolis; Marilyn Barnett (Mick), Newburgh, Indiana; Pam Hutchison (Jack ), Marion; Barb Cooper (Ed), Evansville; Patty Sachse (Ron), Marion; Kathy Larsen (John), Owensboro, Kentucky; Tim Coan (Crystal ), Mackinaw Illinois; Frank Morris (Diane), Glendale,Arizona.
Services will be held at 1pm, Monday, April 11, 2016 in Gethsemane Episcopal Church, 111 East 9th Street, Marion, Indiana. Visitation will begin at 11:30 until services. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory. Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana was entrusted with the arrangements.
