Karen L. Parsons, 59 of Roanoke went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 8:54 am on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice. Karen loved being a wife, mom, and grandma. She most recently worked in the Huntington North High School Cafeteria as a substitute. She was devoted to her church, Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church as a song leader, and choir member, and the Young Adult and Youth Fellowship Leader. She served as the President of Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Women and loved serving her church.

Karen was born on December 24, 1956 in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of Gaylard and Lee (Cleaver) Hadley.

She was united in marriage to Rolla Parsons. Her husband survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters: Heather Parsons of Roanoke; Holly (Andy) Lengerich of Decatur; a son: Jason (Jillian) Parsons of Huntington; her parents: Gaylard and Lee Hadley of West Harrison; a sister: Gayle (David) Sampson of Brookville; a brother: Gregg (Shelly) Hadley of Manhattan, KS and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church, 0880 E. 1100 N., Roanoke, Indiana with Chaplain Mike Smith officiating.

Interment will be at the Pleasant Chapel Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be made out to Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church or to Visiting Nurse and Hospice, both in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
