Judy Kay Lewis, 74, died in her Jonesboro home at 1:10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. She was born in Marion, Indiana, to the late Claude and Mildred (Foreman) Parrish. On January 25, 1958, Judy married William “Doyle” Lewis, and they shared 56 years together until he passed on August 17, 2014.

Judy was a lifelong resident of Grant County and a Mississinewa High School graduate. She worked as a Produce Manager at Marsh Supermarket and retired in 2000 after 35 years of service. Judy also worked at Holiday Inn Express for eight years, IWU for two years, and the VA for five years following her retirement from Marsh. Judy attended Grace Community Church.

Judy was a caring and loving person, as well as a very hard worker. She raised her three sons and accepted all of their friends as her own children. Judy was extremely giving and would do anything for anyone. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Loved ones Judy leaves behind include her sons, Mike (Cheryl) Lewis, Smithville, Missouri, and Mark Lewis, Jonesboro; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer (Aaron) Buckler, Jessica (Bradley) Moore, Kayle (Tom) Cadwell, Meghan (Michael) Turner, Amanda Lewis, Miranda (Garrett) DeHaven, Shelby (Dylan) Chambers, and Tyler Lewis; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Rick Lewis, and brother, Larry Parrish.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Services to celebrate Judy’s life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Fairmount.
