Judith Ann Keene, Marion, passed from this earth on Sunday, April 10, 2016 in Colonial Oaks Healthcare. She had bravely battled multiple illnesses for numerous years. Her smile, laughter and positive personality will be missed by many.
Judi was born in Marion on January 21, 1938 to the late Floyd and Mary (Axley) Smith. Though Judi was a person of many artistic talents she was best known as a certified master florist and owner of Flowers by Judi in Marion. During the 1970’s when the Easter Pageant was at its most popular, Judi was in charge of all character makeup activities as well as being the primary makeup artist. After retiring from the floral business she became highly regarded as an interior decorator specializing in Feng Shui. She never met a stranger and was highly respected throughout the community.
She is survived by two children, Denise Flory Hall and Scott Flory, both of Marion; sister-in-law, Ellen Smith, Marion; grandsons, Cory Carmichael, Marion; Drew Hall, Columbus, Ohio; former husband and lifelong friend, Ken “Squirt” Keene, Marion; dear friend, Toni Lyons, Marion.
Judi is also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Smith, daughter, Michelle Flory Jones, aunt, Thelma Axley Farley and mother-in-law, Florence Keene.
The family takes comfort in realizing that Judi is no longer suffering and is now reconnected with her mother, father, brother and all those family members that have gone before her that she has missed for so long. Per the wishes of Judi, there will be no services. A small gathering and celebration of her life will take place at a later date. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington, Marion, Indiana.
