Josephine Jayne, 87, North Manchester, IN formerly of Silver Lake, IN died at 4:54 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017 in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. She was born May 3, 1929 in Jasper, IN to Foister & Mintie (Brown) Richardson. She graduated from Silver Lake High School, Silver Lake, IN class of 1947. On December 14, 1947 she married Charlie Jayne. He died April 22, 2004. She was a homemaker and co-owner of Jayne’s Bargain Barn, Silver Lake, IN. She loved crocheting, gardening, cooking and flowers. She also enjoyed camping, reading and attending rummage sales and auctions. She is survived by sons, David Jayne, North Manchester, IN, Paul (companion Wendy Billman) Jayne, Silver Lake, IN, Steve (companion Beverly Guthrie) Jayne, Millbrook, AL; daughters, Charlotte Sue (Lester) Jayne-Spangle, Silver Lake, IN, Pat Irelan, North Manchester, IN, Linda (Fred) Kling, North Manchester, IN, Betty Smith, North Manchester, IN, Jo (Scott) Leffel, North Manchester, IN and Laurie (Rick) Voss, South Whitley, IN; twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. One son, Charles Jayne, and one son-in-law, Wendell Smith, and one sister are deceased. Family and friends may call Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 12:00-3:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Services will be Monday, April 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Pastor William Whitaker will officiate.
