Joseph Martin Correll

Joseph Martin Correll, 84, of Kokomo, went to be with his Lord on January 18, 2018, surrounded by family at St. Vincent Hospital.

He was born January 24, 1933 in Mongo, Indiana, to Verling Correll and Edith (Mann) Correll. He attended Peru High School and then served as a medic in the Army during the Korean War. He worked various jobs in Indiana, Arizona, and California through the years. His heart was in the service industry where he loved talking to people. He enjoyed finding unique treasures at yard sales, flea markets, and auctions. His smile and laugh were infectious. He said “thank you very much” with an Italian accent that will be greatly missed.

He is survived by daughter, Jo (Dale) Harden, Bedford, Indiana; two granddaughters, Dawn (Jon) Schuller, New Haven, Indiana, and Tracy (Danny Welch) Clarner, Bloomington, Indiana; six great grandchildren, J.D., Olivia, Liberty, Sophie, Justice, and Hope; two brothers, Gene (Donna) Correll, Avon Park, Florida, and La Moine (Donna) Correll and several real nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Verling and Edith Correll and one brother, Jack Correll.

Visitation will be at Zion Chapel, 915 S. Broadway, Peru, from 10-1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 with a funeral service immediately following. Military service will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team.  Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Chapel of Peace, in Kokomo, Indiana. Memorials can be made to “Honor Flight of Northeast Indiana.”
