John Weaver, 94, passed away May 21, 2017, in his residence. He was born in Marion, Indiana to the late Elisha and Addie Marie (Modlin) Weaver.
On October 11, 1919 John married Elizabeth Wilson, who preceded him in death on May 5, 2007. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1943-1946. John spent most of his life in Marion however, for a short period of time worked in Indianapolis for the Postal Service. Later he owned and operated Weaver Amoco Station and retired in 1987.
He is survived by his children, Jacqueline (Lorenzo) Harris, Corliss Weaver, all from Tempe, Arizona; Alyce Weaver, Phoenix, Arizona; Angel Weaver, Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren, Ashley Pohl and Joshua Pohl, Hunter, Kerah, Yahna and Nathan Rusting.
John is also preceded in death by his daughter, June Weaver; brother, Ben Weaver and sister, Mary Pettiford.
Visitation will be held at Owen-Weilert-Duncan, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 4-8 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 11 am at the House of Worship For All People, 1824 S Branson Street, Marion, Indiana with Pastor Tommy Nukes officiating.
Burial, with military honors, will immediately follow at Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.
