John Mark Holder, 67, Fairmount, son to the late John and Mary Anna (Fisher) Holder, died at 2:03 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016, in Anderson.
John Mark was born in Marion, IN, and was a lifelong resident of Grant County. He was an operating engineer with I.U.O.E. Local 103 in Kokomo, and he previously worked at National Machine in Marion and Twin City Locker in Gas City.
His family was very dear to him, especially his grandchildren, and he loved to watch his grandson, Zane, play baseball. John Mark was a hard-working man and took pride in helping others. He enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing, watching RFD-TV, and studying local history.
Loved ones John Mark leaves behind are his children, Carrie (Chad) Carey, Pendleton, and Ryan Holder, Summitville; grandchildren, Zane Carey and Carson Carey; siblings, Marilyn (Phillip) Speicher, LaFontaine, and William T. (Patricia A.) Holder, Fairmount; cousin, Cheryl (Kaye) Young, LaFontaine, who was raised alongside John; close cousins, Roger Holder, Jonesboro, and Dale Holder, Sheridan, WY; several nieces, nephews, other cousins, and friends; and close friend and brother-in-law, Michael Friermood.
Also preceding him in death were his grandparents and nephew, Michael T. Holder.
Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Services will begin at 6 p.m. with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.
