John B. Griffin, 55, Jonesboro, went to be with his mother and father, the late John William and Leola (Dalrymple) Griffin, at 7:52 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Marion General Hospital.
John was a 1977 graduate of Marion High School, and he attended Bethel Church in Marion. He worked at Metal Products in Marion as a Supervisor/Lineman.
John was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed riding his Harley. He was a huge fan of NASCAR, Indianapolis Colts, and Chicago Bears. Most of all, though, John loved his family and friends.
Survivors include his life companion of 21 years, Shelly; step-son, Chris; siblings, David (Deb) Griffin, Angola, Sue (Ron) Powell, Marion, Stephen Griffin, Gas City, and Sara (Tony) Fox, Marion; grandson, Lennon Dodson; nieces and nephews, Brian (Jessica) Griffin, Wade (Aurora) Griffin, Jackie (Mike) Bruner, Staci Fox, and Hannah Fox; 3 great-nephews; 5 great-nieces; and mother-in-law, Helen Netzley.
Also preceding him in death were his great-nephew, Aiden Griffin, and his grandparents.
At the family’s request, there will be no services for John.
Arrangements are being handled by Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
