John A. “Katt” Biehl, age 64, of Andrews, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016, at 5:10 pm at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. He graduated from Northfield High School, Wabash, in 1970, and served in the US Army. He was a lifetime farmer and worked for Wabash Alloys, E & S Metals, & F & M Tile. He was a member of Huntington American Legion Post #85 and a former member of Lagro American Legion Post #248. He was an accomplished carpenter, mason and welder.
John was born March 7, 1952, at home on Market St., Andrews, the son of Fred and Thelma Jean (Schwartz) Hull. He married his beloved wife Karen S. Carr in Alpena, MI, and she survives in Andrews. Also surviving are 2 sons Gary Biehl and J.Paul (Tobi A.) Biehl both of Huntington, step-son Douglas Lapczynski of Andrews, step-daughter Kristi (Chad) Arlt of Alpena, MI, 5 grandchildren Anthony Biehl, Caleb Biehl, Emma Thompson, John Biehl, and Lillian Biehl, step-grandchild Kade Lapczynski, 5 sisters Juanita Fait and Karen Roemhild both of California, Glynna Harmon of Lagro, Cheri Bragg of Fort Myers, Florida. and Mary Harlan of Huntington, and a brother Jim Biehl of Lagro. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers Lawrence “Buck” Saunders, Bill Saunders, Gary Biehl and Homer Biehl.
Visitation will be held Thursday March 17 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and Friday March 18 from 9-10 am preceding the 10:00 am funeral service at Deal-Rice Funeral Home- Andrews Chapel with Pastor Tim Prater officiating.
