Joan Davis, 80 of Huntington passed away at 4:25 am on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice in Fort Wayne. Joan was self-employed for 15 years at Davis Bait & Tackle in Mt. Etna and also as a home health care provider. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Huntington.
Joan was born on May 1, 1936 in Dresden, Tennessee, the daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Montgomery) Ford.
She was united in marriage to Edward Davis, he preceded her in death on March 8, 1983.
Survivors include three daughters: Sandy L. (Cliff Falcone) Hoffman of Huntington; Mary E. (Rick) Denman of Huntington; Della D. (Richard) Conley of Berea, KY; two brothers: Bobby (Margie) Ford of Paris, TN; Jack Ford of Dresden, TN; three sisters: Shirley (Bobby) Bradberry of Dresden, TN; Patsy (Bob) Boldog of Palatine, IL; Judy (Sal) LaCavera of Hanover Park, IL; 17 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son: Billy D. Barrix, a daughter: Sherry A. Barrix and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Interment will be at Lancaster Cemetery.
