On Friday January 13, 2017, Jimmy (Jim) Browning, 81, of Denver IN, went to be the Lord. He was surrounded by his family and friends at Dukes Memorial Hospital.

Jim was born June 29,1935 to Marsh and Bertha (Boggs) Browning. Jim married the love of his life, Eileen (Madden) on May 5, 1956. She went to Heaven in February of 2008. They had 3 children: Betty (Terry) Gentry, Denver, IN; Peggy (Ralph) McQuinn, Macy, IN; and Marty (Melody) Browning, Denver IN.  Also surviving are 6 grandchildren: Erin Gray, James McQuinn, Levi Gentry, Craig Browning, Taylor Browning, and Tanner Browning; and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived 3 brothers: Asbel Browning (Lorraine) of Bledsoe ,KY; Leonard Browning (Kathy) of Peru, IN; and Jr. Browning (Juanita) of Peru, IN.  Also, 2 sisters: Rose Appleton (Tom) of Peru, IN; and Lola Jordan (Dan) of Denver, IN. He was preceded by his parents, brothers Levi Browning, Aaron Browning, Astor Browning, Don Browning, sister Wanda Rogers, and grandson Ralphie McQuinn.

Jim, worked at Thrush/Amtrol for over 30 years. He loved his family tremendously, and was loved by everyone who knew him. He was known for his green thumb – his yard was always open to grab anything from corn to apples and anything in between.  He enjoyed sitting on his porch and waving to his neighbors and friends walking the Nickel Plate Trail.

Viewing will be Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, IN.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, with Pastor Don Browning officiating.  Jim will be laid to rest beside his wife at Ever-Rest Cemetery on Logansport Rd.
