Jim “Gummy” Eugene Godfroy, 78, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at 8:46 p.m. at his residence in Huntington.
Mr. Godfroy was born on August 18, 1939, in Huntington, IN, to the late Ralph E. “Bud” and Halcyon J. (McClurg) Godfroy.
Mr. Godfroy graduated from Huntington Catholic High School in 1958. He worked at Our Sunday Visitor for 22 years. After retirement, he was a part-time bartender. He was a member of the Miami Indian Tribe of Oklahoma. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, IN. He was also a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus #1014 Huntington, IN.
Jimmy is survived by one brother, Jack Godfroy, Huntington, IN; three nephews, Todd Foor, Mike (Cheryl) Foor, and John (Mary) Foor; and three nieces, Carrie (Joshua) Salter, Kim (Dave) Working, and Nikki (Ray) Pierson.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McElhaney- Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. with Father Stephen Colchin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with one hour of calling prior at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN with Fr. Stephen Colchin officiating.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to Huntington Catholic School and Masses at St. Mary Catholic Church in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.
