Jerry R. Himelick, 88, died early Tuesday morning, April 4, 2017, in his residence, surrounded by family. He was born in Upland, the son of the late Robert and Fern (Roe) Himelick.

Jerry graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1946. He lived in Grant County for most of his life and farmed in Jefferson Township. He was a machine attendant at RCA from 1952-1988 and formerly enjoyed Square Dancing with the Christmas City Squares, Blackford County Circling Squares, and the Twin City Circling Squares.

He married Anna Louise Howard on December 18, 1946. She preceded him in death in March 1955.

Mr. Himelick served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1946-1948 and from April – October 1951.

Survivors include two sons, Randolph Joe Himelick, Georgia, Marc Himelick, Tennessee; three daughters, Reva Denton, Upland, Rae Jean Parks, California, and Reeann Himelick, Texas; a brother, Jack Himelick; granddaughter, Terri Denton, Upland, and several other grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, Victor Himelick, Verlin Himelick, and Joseph Himelick; grandchildren, John Denton, Tammie Denton; and great granddaughter, Brianna Conway.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
