Jerry M. Clark, 80, of Peru, Indiana on April 3, 2017 entered into his heavenly home, leaving his earthly struggles behind.
Jerry was born on October 27, 1936 in Salem, Illinois to Clodie and Frieda (Parker) Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jerry worked 32 years for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad, and he served four years in the United States Air Force. During his time at Grissom AFB he met the love of his life, Roberta (Foreman) Clark. They were married on May 31, 1962 and have two children, Kevin Clark (Andrea Bright) of Peru and Tawna Leffel Sands (Christian), also of Peru. He has two grandsons who were the light of his world, Zachary Leffel of Huntington and Nicholas Leffel of Fort Wayne.
Besides his wife, children and grandchildren, Jerry is survived by three brothers, Robert (Jane) Clark of Centralia, IL, Reggie Clark of Centralia, IL and Richard Clark of Salem, IL. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jackie Clark of Indianapolis, IN.
He enjoyed all sports but golf was top on his list. He spent many hours playing golf with his buddies at Indiana Oaks Golf Course. He also enjoyed watching his grandsons play many sports and was one of their biggest fans.
Jerry was a faithful and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and kind spirit.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will follow at 2:00pm.
