Jeffrey “Jef” Dirig, 47, Marion, died at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born in Marion to Thomas and Patricia (Givens) Dirig, and he graduated from Marion High School.
Jef continued his post-secondary education and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Illustration from The Ohio State University. His passion for artwork led him to become a free-lance medical illustrator. Other interests and hobbies included painting, photography, waterskiing, and enjoying nature.
Loved ones surviving him include his sons, Joshua Thomas Dirig and Jacob Scott Dirig; brother, David Michael (Midori) Dirig; and sister, Tracey Christine (Eric) Deutsch. His mother preceded him in death.
Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. A funeral service to honor Jef’s life will begin at 1 p.m.
