Jeffery Richard Heck, 57, of Muncie, IN, passed away at 7:29 PM on Monday, October 17, 2016 at his sister’s home in Warren, IN with his family by his side.  He was born on Thursday, July 16, 1959, in Huntington, IN.  Jeff was a 1978 graduate of Huntington North High School. Shortly after high school he entered the United States Marine Corps. He served his country from 1980-1985. During his time in the service he began his training at Camp Pendleton, CA and then went to Camp Lejeune, NC for advanced individual policing training. In 1981 he was stationed in Iwakuni, Japan, where he enjoyed his time so much he decided to enlist for a longer stay. Jeff was honorably discharged from active duty in 1985 from Cap Barstow, CA. He was proud of his time in the service and was honored to serve his country. For the past 29 years Jeff worked at Pepsi in Muncie. His last position with the company was a merchandiser. He enjoyed hiking, camping, being outdoors, astronomy, going to the shooting range and taking vacations to Florida with his family.

 

Loving survivors include: Father – William Richard Heck, Huntington, IN, Brother – William Joseph (Cindy Olson) Heck, FL, Sister – Jacqueline (Steven) Hall, Huntington, IN, Sister – Janette (James) Ralston, Warren, IN, Granddaughter – Jovie Noel Armstrong, 5 Nieces, 2 Nephews, 6 Great Nephews and 4 Great Nieces. He was preceded in death by his Mother – Arlene (Kellam) Hoover.

 

A private service to celebrate Jeff’s life will be held for family only. Inurnment will be in the Marion National Cemetery in Marion around Easter 2017 for family and friends, date and time are still to be determined.  Military honors will be conducted by the local honor guard.

 

Arrangements are being handled by Glancy – H. Brown & Son Funeral Home in Warren.
