Jay Ivan Stricler, 54, Marion, died at 11:08 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2016, in his home. He was born in Marion, Indiana, to Truman and the late Edna (Snow) Stricler.
Jay worked as an insurance adjuster. He enjoyed woodcutting and bonfires, and he was a Minnesota Vikings fan. Jay was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church and loved being a part of the Men’s Prayer Group. He had the gift of gab and could be found talking to anybody. He never met a stranger.
Survivors include his father, Truman; daughters, Jessica (Rex) Litton, Van Buren, Heather Stricler, Marion, and Katelyn Stricler, Marion; sister, Bonnie Vermilyer, Marion; niece, Nicole (Shaun) Robinson, Marion; and eight grandchildren.
Jay was preceded in death by his mother, Edna.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016, at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, Chapel Pike at 300 W, Marion, IN 46952, with Pastor Rob Barton officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
