Jane Carolyn Rudy, Gas City, lived 100 years this side of Heaven until the Lord received her home at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Twin City Healthcare, Gas City. She was born in Logansport to the late John J. and Hazel D. (Blackmon) Schwartz. Jane married George Rudy, and he preceded her in death.
Jane graduated from Marion High School and retired from Marion Community Schools after 20 years of service. She previously worked at Pershings Pet Store, Foster-Forbes, and JC Penney. She was a charter member at Calvary Chapel, where she served as kitchen leader for church functions and was also a Board member. She was known for her great-tasting pies, rolls, and ham.
She is survived by her sons, Cullen Dave (Nancy) Rudy, Mooresville, and G. Phil (Peggy) Rudy, Marion; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by grandsons, Gerin Rudy and Michael Rudy, and brother, John B. Schwartz.
Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Services begin at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Stephen Houser officiating. Burial will follow at Marion National Cemetery.
