Jane A. Gurtner, 73 of Huntington passed away at 3:47 am on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Wesleyan Healthcare in Marion. Jane was a 1961 graduate of Van Buren High School. She had worked at Sees Supply and Majestic Corporation. She was a member of First Brethren Church. She enjoyed going to casino’s, antiquing and flea markets.
Jane was born on February 26, 1943 in Grant County, the daughter of Edwin W. and Thelma Pauline (Surfus) Satterthwaite.
She was united in marriage to Dean F. Gurtner on December 4, 1982 in Tennessee. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2003.
Survivors include two sons: Wayne (Teresa) Graham of Fort Wayne; Glen Graham of New Castle; a daughter: April (Timothy) Leach of Gas City; two stepdaughters: Dianna (Harry) Burt of Fort Wayne; Jennifer (Timothy) Godfroy of Huntington; a brother: James Satterthwaite of Warren; a sister: F. Arlene Smola of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a great grandson: Grayson Wayne Goelz and her parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Dianna Teusch officiating.
Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County.
