Ron McDaniel, 68, of Warren, IN, passed away at 10:32 PM on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Marion General Hospital in Marion. He was born on Sunday, August 10, 1947, in Huntington, IN. Mr. McDaniel was a 1965 graduate of Jefferson Twp. High School and a 1972 graduate of Vincennes University. He had achieved an Associate of Science degree. He had formerly attended Jefferson U.M. Church and recently attended the Solid Rock U.M. church in Warren. He was a Jefferson Twp. farmer and had his pilot’s license. He was a former Air Traffic Controller in Ft. Wayne, and had also been a flight instructor. He owned JM Sales & Distributing tire sales. Mr. McDaniel had served his country in the U.S. Army where he was a helicopter mechanic. He was a antique tractor collector & puller. He was a member of Cockshutt Tractor Club, Wheels of Yesteryear, and the Van Buren American Legion. He enjoyed getting to spend time with his grandchildren.
Loving Survivors Include: Son – James Aaron (Tara) McDaniel, Warren, IN., Daughter – Jennifer McDaniel, Warren, IN., Granddaughters – Nora Lynn McDaniel, Ella Rose McDaniel, Sister – Mona (Bill) True, North Canton, OH., and Nephew – Nicholas True, Sweden. He was preceded in death by his Father – James Gerald McDaniel, and Mother – Leslie ( Day) McDaniel.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Glancy – H. Brown & Son Funeral Home 203 N Matilda St. Warren on Thursday, March 03, 2016 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to service on March 4, 2016.
A service to celebrate Ron’s life will be at Glancy – H. Brown & Son Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 04, 2016 with the Pastor Paul Burris officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Etna Cemetery in Huntington.
Preferred memorials: Continuing Education Fund for My Grandchildren (Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.)
