James Ray Stout

James Ray Stout, 93, of Van Buren, IN, went to his eternal home on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Heritage Pointe in Warren, IN.  He was born on July 27, 1924, in Fulton County, IN, to Alfred C. and Mabel (James) Stout.  He married Norma J. Smith on November 1, 1947;  She preceded him in death on March 24, 2006.  James Ray was a 1942 graduate of Van Buren High School.  He served his country in the Army during WWII with the 101st and 82nd Airborne.  He retired from Fisher Body in Marion after 30 years of service.  He was a lifetime member of Central Christian Church in Van Buren.
Loving survivors include: sons Gregory (Elizabeth) Stout, El Paso, TX and Jan Stout, Indianapolis, IN; daughters Peggy Huntzinger, Fort Wayne, IN, Susan (Harry) Penny, Altoona, PA, Ronda (Steven) Brown, Yorktown, IN, Leslie (Brian) Linn, Van Buren, IN; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, James Ray was preceded in death by his brother Ralph Stout and his sister Louise Martin.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Central Christian Church, 201 South First Street, Van Buren on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the church.  Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.  Interment with military rites will follow in the Van Buren Cemetery.
Preferred memorials may be directed to Central Christian Church, 201 South First Street, Van Buren, IN 46991.
Arrangements are being handled by Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home in Van Buren.
